Buffalo #Bills linebacker tweets thank you to the organization; Bills cut LB

The Buffalo Bills have released linebacker Tony Steward the former Clemson Tiger linebacker. This is a surprising move for the Bills who already had one of their linebackers retire in A.J. Tarpley. The Bills are extremely thin at the linebacker position, and while the team did sign Lorenzo Alexander (33) and Zach Brown in free agency, the team is still short handed at the linebacker position.

Extremely grateful to the Bills organization for the opportunity they gave me. Looking forward to the next chapter.
He was drafted in the 6th round (#188 overall) by the Buffalo Bills in the 2015 NFL Draft. It was the first of two sixth round picks by the Bills.
During his career at Clemson, had 141 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and 14 quarterback pressures while battling back from two ACL injuries.
Steward recently lost his fiancee’ to a battle with cancer. We hope he rebounds and is able to sign with a team soon. He is a good person, and we wish him the best.
