Could the 49ers give up on Colin Kaepernick? His contract is not that hard to get out of
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media points out that while the 49ers locked up QB Colin Kaepernick to a six year, $114 million extension with $61 million guaranteed, only $13 million of this figure is fully guaranteed.
The agreement includes no guaranteed money next year, which means they can move on with limited repercussions if needed.
According to Rapoport, “there’s no guarantee Kaepernick is going to be on the roster.”
This news makes you wonder if the “Something Big Happening” that Matt Maiocco heard is indeed dealing with Kaepernick.
