- Dimitri Allen Butts.

What position do you play?
- Defensive Back, Cornerback.
What is your height/weight?
- 5-10 3/8″ 184lbs.
Did you play any other sports growing up? If so, what were they?
- Soccer, Cricket, and Track haha.
Who is the toughest player you have competed against in College?
- Justin Dvorak (Colorado School of Mines QB – 2013-2016), the Harlon Hill Trophy winner in 2016. Read and understood the concepts and disguises we ran on defense, threw his receivers open… literally.
Are you listening to music before a game? If so, what?
- Kodak Black and Calvin Harris.
Do you have any superstitions before a game? If so, what are they?
- Just a short prayer and always take a #2 to ease the anxiety.
Who is your role model & why?
- Every person of Color before my time who endured tribulations.
While in College, what has been your favorite & least favorite class?
- My favorite course has been Media Law and least favorite was accounting, I rather learn how to fly a plane before I retake that class.
Outside of Football, what has been your favorite experience while in College?
- Getting out of my comfort zone with different activities and meeting people of different backgrounds and conversing ideas or learning something that I was unaware of.
Growing up, who was your favorite NFL Team & NFL player, & why?
- Atlanta Falcons, every kid including me wanted to be like Mike Vick.
If you could be in any movie of your choice, what would it be & what character would you play?
- Friday, I’ll definitely want to play Ezeil’s cousin or something.
If you could have dinner with three people, dead or alive, who are they?
- King Solomon.
- Niko Tesla.
- Diana Danelys De Los Santos.
If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose & why?
- Mansa Musa, Emperor of the famous West African Empire, he really understood all aspects of being a well known and intelligent black man in the midst of a critical time period.
Who is your favorite superhero & why?
- Come on now, Black Panther, When I was a little kid, I always wanted to see a black super hero.
What is your definition of hard work?
- The sweat of one mans eyebrow, or the constant series of less sleep due to priorities.
What is the most unexpected lesson you learned while in College?
- Just because you are having a bad day, week, or month, the world won’t stop turning nor will the sun not rise. Everybody encounters problems, you just can’t let them hold you down or effect your progression.
What is something you wish you could go back & tell yourself as a High School Freshman?
- Buy some contacts, fear is an illusion and kiss that one girl on the cheek.
Why do you wear #9?
- It was something that caught me by surprise once I transferred into Black Hills State. I guess you can say I been given 9 opportunities to do something great.
What is the best part of your hometown, Pompano Beach, FL?
- The culture, what we are known for all around the globe, you’ll always hear “Them boys from Pompano something Different”. I don’t want to ramble on about multiple things but come take a trip to the Noya.
Who do you choose, Jordan or LeBron?
- I ain’t never see LeBron get crossed up….. so you know who I’m rocking with.
Are you a PS4 or Xbox One guy? What games are you playing right now?
- I’m not much into video games, they occupy valuable time I could be doing something else. But if I had to choose, I’m a huge Grand Theft Auto guy.
What has been your most memorable moment as a student-athlete?
- I can narrow down between two moments, back at my Junior College I worked at a daycare and recently I volunteered at special Olympics. It really broadens your perspective on all the tools and abilities that one is blessed with that one might usually take for granted.
If you could have three wishes granted, what would they be?
- Give my father the ability to speak.
- Eliminate racism.
- Have unlimited funds on my food stamp card so I can buy food for whomever.
What is your hidden talent?
- Having the Gift of Gab.
If there is a book written about Dimitri Butts, what is the title?
- “That boy a Freak.”
What are three things on your “Bucket List?”
- Get into Area 51.
- Invite all my Ex’s to my wedding.
- Sky dive.
Are you binge watching anything on Netflix or Hulu right now?
- I just finished up Containment, now I am watching The Crossing.
If you had one free hour each day, how would you choose to use it?
- I would practice on my French speaking skills
If you could intercept one NFL QB, past or present, who would it be & why?
- I need to catch a book from that boy LJ, Lamar Jackson. One time for the one time, so I can brag about it back in Pompano.
What are the goals for 2018, both individually & for the Black Hills State football team?
- For my self it would be to play without any mental setbacks, my mind is my only competition. For the team, it is to overcome the small humps the little things, we have loads of young talent but all it takes is for every guy to believe in their abilities and that’ll set us on top of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Confrence.
If you could give NFL scouts three words to describe the type of man they are getting in Dimitri Butts, what would they be?
- Modest, Wise, and competitive.
