49ers restructured Aldon Smith’s contract; Worked to safeguard the team
The San Francisco 49ers made a very smart move today, by restructuring Aldon Smith’s contract. He will be on a good behavioral contract. He will still be able to earn his 9.75 million, but it is incentive based now, according to Matt Barrows. Meaning if he messes up the team can cut him and it is not a huge hit. New salary will be based on monthly and weekly roster bonuses. Allows team to part ways if there are any off-field issues.
