According to Fox 5 News, a tragic house fire claimed the life of a 21-year-old Liberty University football player on Monday afternoon in Stone Mountain, authorities and family members confirmed.

According to DeKalb County Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched to a home in a Stone Mountain neighborhood just after 1 p.m. following reports of a fire. The residence belonged to the player’s grandfather. Despite emergency responders’ efforts, the young athlete was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members identified the victim as a Liberty University football player Izaiah Taylor, describing him as a devoted student-athlete who was deeply committed to both his family and his faith. Those close to him said he was known for his positive attitude, work ethic, and leadership, traits that carried over from the classroom to the football field.
