Pittman’s Pocket: Delaware State Outlasts Norfolk State in a Classic Battle at Lincoln Financial Field, 27-20

Under the bright lights of Lincoln Financial Field, fans witnessed a game for the ages as DeSean Jackson’s Delaware State edged out Michael Vick’s Norfolk State, 27-20, in a thrilling matchup that lived up to the hype.
Delaware State quarterback Jaiden Bennett was nearly perfect, completing 16 of 18 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown, guiding the Hornets’ offense with precision and poise. On the defensive side, Samuel Korpoi anchored the Hornets with 6 solo tackles, 1 sack, and 2 tackles for loss, while Quincy Robinson made a key impact with 3 solo tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, and a crucial forced fumble that helped seal the victory.
Norfolk State, led by the legendary Michael Vick, kept the game close throughout. J.J. Evans was explosive, hauling in 5 receptions for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, while DreSean Kendrick added 9 catches for 112 yards and a score. Defensively, Kyree Mayston and Keshawn Lynch brought pressure all night—Mayston recording 4 solo tackles, 1 sack, and 2.5 tackles for loss, and Lynch contributing 3 solo tackles, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss.
