Connecticut Youth Football Coach Arrested After Shoving 7-Year-Old Opponent

An assistant coach for a Connecticut youth football team has been arrested after allegedly shoving a 7-year-old player from the opposing team during a weekend game.

New Milford Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Daniel Fazio, who was working as an assistant coach for the New Milford Bulls in Sunday’s matchup against the Water-Oak Youth Football Team.

According to authorities, the altercation took place on the field and involved a young player from the opposing team. While the child was not injured, the incident immediately sparked disciplinary action.

The New Milford Bulls released a statement confirming that Fazio had been removed from his role, saying the program “does not condone the recent behavior displayed by our former assistant coach.”

The organization added that it is “deeply disturbed” by the incident and emphasized that “the behavior of one individual is not representative of the sentiments, moral compass, or values of the entirety of the program.”

Police charged Fazio with second-degree breach of peace, disorderly conduct, and risk of injury to a child. He posted a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 2.
