Texas High School Football Player Tro’Mario Allen Jr. Died Unexpectedly

The Denton High School community is grieving the loss of senior defensive back Tro’Mario Allen Jr., who passed away unexpectedly over the weekend.

Allen, a beloved member of the Broncos football program, was remembered as “a kid full of energy, always smiling, and loved by so many,” according to a heartfelt tribute shared by the team.

Coaches, teammates, and friends expressed their sorrow and admiration for the young athlete who made a lasting impact both on and off the field. “I still can’t believe it. Thank you for letting me coach you. Love you, kid,” wrote David Guajardo Jr., Denton High’s secondary coach, in a message on social media.

Just last Friday, Allen showcased his talent by recording an interception in Denton’s season opener against Lake Dallas. In 2024, while playing varsity, he recorded 40 tackles, including 26 solo, three interceptions, a pass deflection, and both forced and recovered a fumble, according to MaxPreps.

Beyond the statistics, Allen will be remembered for his spirit, leadership, and the joy he brought to those around him. Denton ISD shared that counseling services are being made available to students and staff as the community comes together to support one another during this time of grief.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Allen family,” the Broncos football program said. “Tro’Mario’s memory will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
