What made you decide wanted to be a football player?
Playing football at recess and lunch when I was a kid. Then it took 4 years to convince my parents to let me play.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Winning a championship my senior year of high school, getting a pick six in Montana, and beating Dordt at Midland in 2021.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I want to be able to make this a living one day and see where football can take me. Football has given me the opportunity to further my education and I can’t wait to see what else I can do with it.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Ed Reed because he is one of the best safeties to ever live and he picked off Tom Brady.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My Dad because he grew up poor and made it out of his living situation. He has done a lot for our family that goes unrecognized. If I could be half the man he is then I would be happy.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
I like man coverage because then you see who is a real dog.
What should we know about Christian Rodriguez the person?
I value trust and loyalty the most. My life revolves around football and will do anything to win and be better. I will not settle for mediocrity in any point.
What stands out about your film the most?
My speed, coverage, and tenacity.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Control what I can control. Worry about myself and my job so I know what I can do from my point if I can do anything.
What would a team get in a player like you?
They would get someone that knows how to win. I have only ever had one losing season. I am very coachable and I will do anything to win.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love hitting people and dominating. Imposing your will on someone that has trained to do the exact same thing is very satisfying.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Payton Mitchell. He was my linebacker in Juco and we both dominated. He went D2 and stopped when he graduated. I know he could keep playing if he wanted to.
