Great signing by the Eagles! Lets take a look at the star receiver stats from College and the Pros!
Learn a little more about Deon Cain
Age: 26
Height and Weight: Six foot two inches (6’2”) 202 pounds
College: Clemson
College Career:
Deon Cain was incredible at Clemson University, the shifty big bodied wideout was very good for the Tigers. Cains best season came in 2016-17 when he had 38 receptions for 724 yards while adding nine touchdowns. The WR was very solid, and would go on to have a very successful college career.
Deons college stats were outstanding! In the 42 games Cain played in throughout his college career he would record 130 receptions for 2,040 yards and 20 touchdowns. Now it was time for the NFL Draft.
Professional Career:
After a promising college career, the Indianapolis Colts would draft Deon Cain in the sixth round 185th overall. The Clemson prospect would have a great training camp and was looking very promising, a Diamond in the rough. Then the world turned upside down, the WR tore his ACL and his rookie season came to a halt. In the following season Deon Cain would come back and have two receptions for 35 yards vs the Los Angles Chargers. The Colts would cut ties with Cain after a few months in 2019. The Clemson super star would bounce around a few NFL teams (Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and the Philadelphia Eagles.) Nothing was ever the same.
Then something huge happened, Deon Cain would get a call from Coach Skip Holtz of the Birmingham Stallions.
Cain would be incredible on special teams, he would have 23 kick returns for 668 yards. TWO Kick Return touchdowns. As a receiver Deon would have 16 receptions for 182 yards with two touchdowns as well. Four total touchdowns in the regular season.
In the USFL Championship Deon Cain would hit a different level, HE WAS INSANE. Four receptions for 70 yards and THREE touchdowns. Absolutely insane. On special teams, Cain would shine five kick return attempts for 101 yards. He would average 20.2 yards a return, I mean he is incredible. Absolutely astonishing.
Final Thoughts:
Deon Cain is going to be good. The speedy wideout/kick returner is going be to successful. I think he is going to be great in the Eagles high powered offense. He is headed back to Philadelphia!
