Former Louisiana stand-out high school football player found with a gunshot to his head
Ja’Kerion Calome was a star football player for Homer High School who helped lead his team to a State Championship is dead.
According to police reports, Calome was found on June 23rd with a gunshot wound to his head.
Police are not sure how he died.
“We know he had a gunshot wound, but we don’t know at this time if it was a suicide or a homicide. Until then, this matter is still under investigation, Police stated.
He was taken by private vehicle to Homer Hospital but would need to be airlifted to Ochsner LSU Health where he would later die.
An autopsy will determine if a Homer High School senior who suffered a gunshot wound to the head Thursday night died of suicide or homicide.
