Former Southeastern Louisiana defensive lineman Kadan Lewis has been arrested after authorities say he assaulted a woman at his residence in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lewis, 22, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of second-degree battery, false imprisonment, and criminal property damage.

Investigators say the alleged victim contacted the sheriff’s office on June 23, reporting that Lewis attacked her at his home on Bridget Road near Hammond. The woman later sought medical treatment for injuries she reportedly sustained during the incident.

Detectives spent approximately one week investigating the allegations before obtaining an arrest warrant signed by a judge. Lewis subsequently surrendered to authorities without incident.

A spokesperson for Southeastern Louisiana Athletics confirmed Friday that Lewis is no longer a member of the football program.

Lewis joined the Lions after transferring from Arkansas State and appeared during the 2024 season, recording 26 total tackles, including 13 solo stops, along with three sacks.

A native of Houma, Louisiana, Lewis was a three-star prospect coming out of Terrebonne High School in the Class of 2022. He was ranked as the No. 52 overall player in the state by ESPN and initially committed to Tulane before ultimately signing with Arkansas State.
