Phillip Rivers and the Indianapolis Colts face Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and the Seattle Seahawks who have one of the best defenses in the NFL. This is a remarkable story of a guy who retired five years ago and a couple of things fell in such a way like the Daniel Jones injury, the Riley Leonard injury and Antony Richardson eye injury that Shane Steichen needed a quarterback and Rivers has a ton of familiarity with the system.
Jonathan Taylor is certainly a helping factor in taking a-lot off the 44 year old quarterbacks plate, a safety blanket tight end like Tyler Warren makes things manageable, along with the offensive line being very strong led by Quentin Nelson. Look for Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker to keep splitting carries at around the 30 combined total rushing attempts mark.
The Seahawks defense has one of the best front seven’s led by Leonard Williams, Demarcus Lawrence and Byron Murphy, paired with athletic and physical hard hitting defensive backs like Devon Witherspoon and Nick Emmanwori, who are bringing it back a decade to the legion of boom. This is as tall a test it gets for one of the most entertaining to do it, this should be an instant must watch game with huge playoff implications in the AFC South and NFC West.
