- Who is the NFL player you compare yourself the most to? Why is that?
1.) I compare myself mostly to Jon Weeks – LS, 49ers. Given that he is undersized, I fully respect his determination and consistency. Being undersized myself, I must have an “it factor,” whether that is my speed, strength, blocking, or coverage. We might not be the most ideal size, but Jon has set an example of what a consistent long snapper should look like, as well as the impact he has off the field by simply being a great guy.
- What aspects of playing in the NFL do you find to be intriguing?
2.) The main aspect I find most intriguing about the NFL is the level of competition. My entire life I was told that if I wanted to be the best, I needed to play against the best. I also love the aspect of special teams in the NFL. In this league, which has the best specialists in the world, games are close and often come down to a last-second snap, hold, and kick. That is what excites me.
- In what ways have you improved since last season?
3.) My biggest improvement from last year is my consistency and confidence on the field. I felt calm every game, regardless of whether there were 80,000 fans or 800. I feel very in control of my body when blocking and covering, as well as the location of the ball at all times.
- What is your favorite memory so far as a college football player?
4.) Favorite memory…
-Playing in front of 110,000 at Texas A&M was pretty fun.
-This year, being selected as a captain in front of my team and coaches was a goal of mine, and I will remember that for the rest of my life.
- What is the most important thing you would like NFL scouts, coaches and general managers to know about you?
5.) I want scouts, coaches, and GMs to know that nothing in life has ever been handed to me. I’ve learned to outwork, outlast, and overcome any situation standing in the way of my goals. I started as a junior college quarterback and am now ending my career as a long snapper. I did not hesitate..I made a pivot in my life, switched positions, and took strategic steps to put myself in the best position to succeed. Being a four-year captain in high school, a captain in JUCO, and now a captain here at UMass, I can confidently say I prepare with purpose, lead with intention, and am ready for any adversity. I am fully committed to competing at the highest level and just need an opportunity to prove it.
