Video shows Washington State football player being shot by a UW student
According to court documents, a shooting was announced around 1:47 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21. Officers found a man, identified as Uilisone “Sone” Falealo, with a gunshot wound to his stomach.
Court documents show that Falealo was taken to the hospital to remove the bullet, which did not damage any organs.
Falealo is listed as a Redshirt Freshman from Anchorage, Alaska, who transferred last year from Idaho.
Pullman police arrested Jakori C. Buchanan, and he is being held in the King County Jail.
Police say Buchanan will be transferred to Whitman County for his first court appearance on charges of first and fourth-degree assault. Buchanan is claiming self-defense.
Buchanan and his cousin were reportedly attacked and brutally beaten, and Buchanan intervened to save his cousin’s life. Buchanan reportedly received medical care for an injury to his jaw and noted that his cousin is currently in a Tacoma hospital in critical condition with a broken rib and punctured lung.
