UFL has Interest in Colin Kaepernick, but will he Reach Out?

If Colin Kaepernick is serious about making an NFL comeback, the United Football League says its doors are open.
Doug Whaley, the UFL’s senior vice president of player personnel, told TMZ Sports this week that the league would be willing to give Kaepernick a platform to showcase his skills. The 2025–26 NFL season will mark nearly nine years since the quarterback last played professionally.
“He hasn’t reached out to us,” Whaley said. “But he knows we’re here. If he really wants it, we would listen. It’d cost us nothing to listen.”
The UFL has built its reputation on helping players and coaches develop their way to the NFL, and Whaley noted that Kaepernick has options outside the league as well.
“There are avenues for him, not only with us, but CFL. There are other avenues that if he wanted to put recent game tape out there, he could have a chance to do it,” he added.
Kaepernick, now 37, last played in 2016 when he led the San Francisco 49ers before opting out of his contract in March 2017. He guided the team to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans but has remained unsigned since his decision to kneel during the national anthem sparked national debate.
Do you think Kaepernick would ever sign up to play? I mean if he wanted it bad enough he should.
