LSU football player arrested, accused of aiding murder suspects
LSU freshman running back JT Lindsey surrendered to authorities on Friday after learning there was a warrant for his arrest on two counts of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
According to an affidavit, the charges stem from a May 21 incident in Alexandria, Louisiana, where police responded to a fatal shooting on the 4000 block of Clark Street. During the investigation, Shemell Jacobs, 17, and Keldrick Jordan, 18, were identified as suspects and became the focus of a U.S. Marshals Service manhunt.
On August 4, the U.S. Marshals Service and LSU Police Department (LSUPD) coordinated after receiving information that Jacobs was on LSU’s campus. Surveillance footage showed him entering Riverbend Hall. Around 6:15 p.m., authorities located both Jacobs and Jordan inside a campus apartment registered to Lindsey.
