The New York Giants Plan to Work Out the Thiccer Kicker Harrison Mevis
Harrison Mevis started his UFL career 8 for 8 on field goals. He was known in college as the Thiccer Kicker because he is a little bit bigger than other kickers around the league, but let me tell you something, he has a BOOT.
I was working for the Hula Bowl and he was my top kicker. I wanted him in the game, and he did not disappoint. The former Missouri kicker had a monster leg. Mevis had a 61 yarder in college and he nailed a 53 yarder like it was nothing earlier in the UFL season.
In week 7, Mevis went 3-for-3 on field goal attempts with a long of 52 yards and was named the UFL special teams player of the week.
Harrison is the younger brother of former Fordham, Iowa State, and Jacksonville Jaguars and current Green Bay Blizzard kicker Andrew Mevis. If Mevis is not signed tomorrow in a workout with the Jets, he will have a workout with the Giants. We are learning he has a workout with the Jets tomorrow alongside Rodrigo Blankenship. If the Jets decide to let him leave without a contract, the Giants are the next team to bring him in.
