Beloved Florida Coach Andrew Thomas Fired After Semifinal Run | His Assistant Coaches All Quit Today

After leading Union County to its best football stretch in 30 years, Andrew Thomas was fired by the school. This move is absolutely insane, and today his coaches followed suit.

Andrew Thomas was one of the most accomplished head coaches out of the Sunshine State. Having led Trenton to two state championships and then leaving to head up Union County, where he was coming off a state semifinal appearance against eventual state champion Madison County, it would seem like Thomas’ job was safe heading into the 2025 campaign, right?

Well, these dummies fired him. Thomas led his team to a 46-14 Record over that stretch.

Thomas was upset and has every right to be upset, but his coaches, they all stepped down today. They too hated the decision.

Union County lost five assistant coaches on Monday with most posting Facebook announcements regarding their resignations.

Union County Superintendent Mike Ripplinger cites parent complaints as one of the reasons to move on from Andrew Thomas. I am sorry but these parents are nuts. He is one of the best in the State of Florida. I am glad his coaches followed suit.
