Police are investigating John Elway’s Golf Cart Accident that killed his longtime friend and agent

NFL icon John Elway and his longtime friend and agent, Jeff Sperbeck, were involved in a devastating accident over the weekend at The Madison Club in La Quinta, California.
According to reports, Elway and Sperbeck were leaving a Stagecoach afterparty on a golf cart late Saturday night when an unfortunate incident occurred. Sperbeck reportedly fell from the back of the cart, sustaining a severe head injury. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find Sperbeck unconscious but breathing. He was immediately transported to a local hospital in Palm Springs, where he was placed on life support.
Tragically, Sperbeck passed away from his injuries, as confirmed by ESPN on Wednesday afternoon. He was 62 years old.
The Riverside County Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. As of now, Elway has not publicly commented on the situation.
Jeff Sperbeck was Elway’s agent from 1990 until Elway’s retirement from the NFL. The two shared a deep personal and professional bond, which extended beyond football. In 2013, they co-founded a winery together, further cementing their longstanding friendship.
