Get to know VJ “Rocket” Wilkins, a new Boston College Eagle Wide Receiver

Boston College added some speed at the Wide Receiver Position through the transfer portal, VJ Wilkins aka Rocket is transferring from Campbell University, over the span of two years the 5-foot-10, 185-pound wideout recorded 69 receptions for 884 yards and nine touchdowns. Rocket would also get some playing time on special teams as a returner where he would record 34 returns for 735 yards over the span of two seasons.

I got the chance to interview VJ Wilkins and got to know a few reasons why he came to Boston College:
I started off with the question: What made you want to come to Boston College?
Wilkins would go on to say:
“First, the coaches. I felt as if Coach O’Brien and his staff are going to help develop me for the next level of football and assist in helping me become a successful man after football. Everyone made me feel like family, and you always want to be somewhere that gives you that family feeling.”
I followed up with: What do you bring to Boston College
“I bring speed, elusiveness, and explosive plays, but as an individual I’m going to bring good and positive energy to the locker room, in which all successful teams need that.”
Wilkins stated
I asked Wilkins what should fans expect from him?
“The nickname speaks for itself. Big plays are coming to Chestnut Hill. I’m going to put in the work to make sure of that, which will contribute to big wins this upcoming season.” Wilkins said confidently
My final question was what is VJ Wilkins message to Boston College fans?
Wilkins said:
“Thank you for welcoming me in, and get your popcorn ready, because BC football is coming. Coach O’Brien said it best “BC will be back.”
