What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I started playing in kindergarten and always watched games with my dad and I really love the game, analyzing it and watching it and being a part of the brotherhood and I really enjoy it.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

This past season beating William and Mary by a touchdown and quarterback Matt Downing had a great game and they were our rivals sort of. My senior year of high school we played our rivals twice and beat them both times including once on a last second touchdown.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

Get into the NFL and seeing the way NFL players impact hometowns and their community and I would love to do that, and my hometown Gatlinburg hasn’t had anyone get into the NFL and I would love to give back to my community.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

Jason Kelce, probably going to be a center if I make it into the NFL and I learned a lot about how effected his community and I would also learn a lot from him and he would be a great guy to be around.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My dad he got me into football and was living vicariously through me and it was good to share it with him and he didn’t get to play college football, and I was kind of playing through my dad and was doing it for him and me.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

Outside zone, you have to be athletic to run it and I use my speed to get off and it’s the most ran play in the NFL for a reason.

What should we know about Kevin Burkett the person?

I’m from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I’m going to graduate with a general engineering degree, so if I don’t get into the NFL, I want to be a Civil Engineer. I grew up in the mountains, so I love being outdoors, hunting, fishing and when I’m not outdoors I like playing video games and cooking and hanging out with my dog JJ which I am right now.

What stands out about your film the most?

My athleticism and my game knowledge, when I’m out there you see I’m athletic and smart and usually I know what’s going to happen out there, so I play as athletic and quick as I can.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Brute force and get through it, if there’s a challenge, I throw myself at it and put in the work and work my tail off until I overcome adversity because I love overcoming adversity.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Just relentless effort and I realize the opportunity ahead of me is what every football player dreams of and whatever they need me to do, I’ll do it and get through it with my brothers and I’m a relentless competitor.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

The brotherhood, there’s nothing anywhere like it in the world and a bunch of guys working towards a common goal.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Charlie “Chuck” Mill, I pride myself in doing work well after practice and he was someone who could outwork me and I wish we put him in on offense because he put in a lot of work.
