What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I have always played football since I was young but I decided I wanted to be a football player once I got to college. I fell in love with the grind and the process of getting better each day. Once I’ve seen all the work I was putting in it was showing me I knew I wanted to be a football player. 

What are your favorite moments from your football life? 

My favorite moments are the preparation, hard work, bonding with teammates, the connection you make, literally everything that the sport gives you. Outside of God football has helped me grow and become the man I’m still becoming today. 

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I want to achieve just making it to the next level and being an example that you can make it out of a D3 school or any low level school. 

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would want to hang out with Deion Sanders and soak up all the information I can from him. While I was in college I literally watched his journey from Jackson State all the way until now in Colorado. He inspires me to keep going everyday and to stay positive. 

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My cousin Anquan Boldin inspires me the most because I have spent so much time with him and seen how hard he work. He not only tells me but shows me how far hard work can take you. He helps critique me in drills and even when he watches my games on Saturday. 

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite defensive scheme has become the corner blitz because of the amount of plays I have made when coach Jake calls it. I love it because it’s an aggressive call and the other team never knows when it’s coming. 

What should we know about Keyshawn Cunningham the person?

Keyshawn Cunningham the person is laid back and chill. I love helping people around me and spending time with my family. Love listening to music and playing my PlayStation 5. 

What stands out about your film the most?

What stands out in my film the most is that I play hard and aggressive. You can see I play the ball well and I am very strappy and play well in man coverage. 

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field? 

I like to take things to the chin and learn from the challenges in life and on the football field when they come. I feel like everything happens for a reason so you just have to give it to God and allow him to use you through all the challenges. 

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team will get a leader, strong work ethic, always eager to learn, and I know I can fit well in any locker room. 

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the lessons you learn from the game and what the game can do for you. Football has given me the ability to separate myself from a lot of distractions and allow me to find who I want to be. Taught me what you put in is what you get out! 

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I’ll say the most underrated player I have played with is Teddy Tate because he worked hard but never got a chance to a get a lot of game reps because of the people that was over him. Teddy helped me become a better corner because of his crazy athletic ability while being 6’4 and strong!
