Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley Shine in Eagles’ Narrow Victory Over Jaguars
In a thrilling matchup, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley delivered standout performances, leading the team to a 28-23 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hurts accounted for three touchdowns—two through the air and one on the ground—while achieving an impressive passer rating of 132.3.
Hurts has made history by becoming the first player in NFL history to record at least one touchdown pass, one rushing touchdown, and a passer rating of 115 or higher in three consecutive games. His dynamic play has significantly contributed to the Eagles’ offensive success.
In addition to Hurts’ remarkable feats, he has recorded six rushing touchdowns in his last three games, joining Cam Newton as the only quarterbacks since 1970 to achieve six rushing touchdowns in a three-game span. Newton accomplished this during Weeks 11-13 of the 2011 season.
Barkley also made history in this game, totaling 199 scrimmage yards—159 rushing and 40 receiving—and scoring two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving. His performance makes him the second player in NFL history to achieve at least 110 scrimmage yards in seven of his first eight games with a team, following in the footsteps of Pro Football Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, who accomplished this feat with the Los Angeles Rams in 1983.
Together, Hurts and Barkley showcased their elite skills, contributing to the Eagles’ hard-fought victory and solidifying their status as key players to watch this season.
