Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley Power Eagles to 37-17 Win Over Bengals
The Philadelphia Eagles soared past the Cincinnati Bengals with a 37-17 victory, thanks to stellar performances from quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley. Hurts accounted for four total touchdowns, while Barkley recorded 111 scrimmage yards, as the Eagles continued their impressive run this season.
Hurts Makes NFL History
Hurts showcased his versatility once again, finishing with three rushing touchdowns, one passing touchdown, and a 132.5 passer rating. His back-to-back historic performances make him the first player in NFL history to record multiple rushing touchdowns with a passer rating of 100 or higher in consecutive games.
In addition, Hurts joined rare company by becoming just the second player in NFL history to achieve three rushing touchdowns, a passing touchdown, and a passer rating of 130 or higher in a single game. The only other player to accomplish this feat was Greg Landry, who did it for the Detroit Lions in 1972.
Hurts now holds the NFL record for the most games with three rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, surpassing Daunte Culpepper, Johnny Lujack, and Tobin Rote, all of whom had two such games. This was Hurts’ third career regular-season game with three rushing touchdowns, further cementing his reputation as one of the most dynamic dual-threat quarterbacks in the league.
Barkley’s Strong Start Continues
Barkley contributed 111 scrimmage yards (108 rushing, three receiving) to the Eagles’ win, continuing his remarkable start with the team. He became just the third player in NFL history to post at least 110 scrimmage yards in six of his first seven games with a new team. The only other players to achieve this milestone are Pro Football Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson (with the Los Angeles Rams in 1983) and Kareem Hunt (with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017).
Eagles Flying High
With Hurts and Barkley leading the way, the Eagles have proven themselves as one of the most balanced and dangerous teams in the league. Hurts’ ability to dominate both in the air and on the ground, combined with Barkley’s consistent production, gives the team a potent offensive attack.
As the season progresses, Philadelphia’s dynamic duo will be key to their success as they aim for a deep playoff run and a potential Super Bowl appearance. The Eagles will look to build on this momentum as they head into the next phase of their season.
