Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce Make History in Chiefs’ 27-20 Win Over Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs secured a 27-20 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, thanks to standout performances from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce. Mahomes passed for 262 yards with two touchdowns, while Kelce hauled in 10 receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown, further cementing both players’ places in NFL history.
Mahomes Breaks Records and Climbs All-Time Rankings
Mahomes’ career achievements continued to grow with the victory. He recorded his 81st regular-season win, surpassing Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger (both with 80 wins) for the third-most by a quarterback in their first eight seasons. Only Tom Brady and Russell Wilson (86 wins each) rank higher.
Including postseason victories, Mahomes now has 96 career wins, moving past Wilson (95 wins) for the second-most by a quarterback in their first eight seasons. He trails only Brady, who had 100 wins at the same stage.
Mahomes also achieved another career milestone by becoming the fastest player to reach 30,000 passing yards, accomplishing the feat in just 103 games. He broke the previous record set by Matthew Stafford, who needed 109 games to reach the mark.
With two touchdown passes against the Raiders, Mahomes recorded his 70th career game with multiple touchdown passes. This puts him in elite company, joining Hall of Famers Peyton Manning (74), Dan Marino (72), and Russell Wilson (72) as the only players with at least 70 such games in their first eight seasons.
In addition, Mahomes became only the third quarterback in NFL history to record three winning streaks of 12 or more games, including the postseason, joining Tom Brady (five such streaks) and Manning (three).
Kelce Continues to Set the Standard for Tight Ends
Kelce’s dominant outing further solidified his place among the best tight ends in NFL history. His touchdown reception against the Raiders was the 75th of his career, moving him past Jason Witten (74) for the fifth-most touchdown catches by a tight end. He now trails only Antonio Gates (116), Tony Gonzalez (111), Rob Gronkowski (92), and Jimmy Graham (89).
Kelce’s 10-catch performance marked his 11th career game with double-digit receptions, tying him with Zach Ertz and Jason Witten for the second-most such games by a tight end. Only Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, with 15, has more.
Chiefs Keep Rolling
The Chiefs’ victory over the Raiders improved their season record and demonstrated once again the impact of the Mahomes-Kelce duo. With Mahomes rewriting the record books and Kelce continuing to dominate, Kansas City looks poised to make another deep playoff run.
The Chiefs will aim to extend their winning streak and build on their success as they continue to pursue another Super Bowl title.
