Player Summary:
Junior. DE starter. Played LB in the 2023 season, now a true DE in 2024. In a 4-3, he’s used at LB, in 3-4, he’s used at DE. He has good height and weight. Very physical. Average in zone or man coverage. More of a run-stopper at LB. Good pursuit. Incredibly fast for his position. Runs a 4.48 40. Has good play recognition. Has phenomenal speed off the edge. Good effort to stop plays. Solid block shedding. Uses a swim-spin move package. Good tackling. Has an injury history, and a bit of legal trouble with a misdemeanor back in April. Can sometimes be overpowered when using power moves. Takes sharp angles and fills the gap for a tackle. He tends to always strip or go for the ball. Can fit in almost any scheme.
Scheme Fit:
DE.
Power Statement:
Abdul Carter is a freakish athlete with overwhelming speed. He is a projected 1st round pick in this upcoming draft. The reason he is so highly ranked is his ability to play different positions and his speed could be used everywhere around the field. Will be on my radar as the best EDGE rusher in this year’s class.
