Player Summary:
Redshirt Junior. RT/LT starter, though he’s at RG to start the 2024 season. Good height, amazing strength, and weight. Average run blocker and above-average in pass protection. As a run blocker, he is average. He doesn’t attack a defender well in the run game. He can push the pile. Sometimes gives up on the play. Can get caught for holding. Can be beaten with a swim move. Needs to be better at backpedaling. Absolute bulldozer. Sometimes put his hands on the EDGE rusher’s outside shoulders. Can be beat off the edge with speed—a bit of a trash talker. In pass protection, he is above average. Has great footwork in pass protection. Can be beat with speed, which can allow a sack. Has good power against an EDGE rusher. Needs to work on hand placement, but is sometimes successful. Bends his knees pretty well, and can sit on a stool. Sometimes pushes defenders in pass protection. May need to condition more to keep up with fast defenders off the edge. Allows crucial sacks. But is a young quality lineman with lots of potential.
Scheme Fit:
OG
Power Statement:
Dameion is an average run blocker and an above-average pass protector. Needs work on preventing swim moves and speed rushers, but is lethal with his freak power. I don’t like him as an OT but would love him as an OG. He is eligible for the draft this April but is unsure he’ll commit to it this season. Will be on my radar this upcoming collegiate season.
