VIDEO shows Colorado Coaches Fighting and Coaches Watching and Narrating the Fight

Brawl Alert: Former Colorado Coach Trevor Reilly Throws Down with Graduate Assistant Josh Jynes

In what can only be described as the most unexpected MMA audition of the year, former Colorado coach Trevor Reilly found himself in a full-blown brawl with graduate assistant Josh Jynes shortly after resigning from the program. Security camera footage caught the action, and it was enough to make UFC fans jealous—punches were thrown, punches were landed, and professionalism took a nosedive.

But the real kicker? Narrating the chaos from the sidelines was none other than Colorado staffer and former NFL star Warren Sapp, who seemed to enjoy the brawl like it was a championship bout. In Sapp’s world, two colleagues beating each other up is apparently worthy of a highlight reel.

Perhaps he’s just gearing up for a new role as a color commentator for parking lot brawls?

And if you’re thinking, “Hey, this can’t be the first time these guys have gone at it,” you’d be right.

According to Athlon, this August fight was a sequel. The two nearly got physical earlier in 2024—an event that, much like any franchise, hinted that more drama was on the way.

Athlon even ran a story describing the program as a real-life “Grand Theft Auto” video game, complete with the chaos, bad decisions, and now, bonus fight scenes. As if the program needed another reason to feel like it’s being directed by Quentin Tarantino. So, while some coaches stick to playbooks and team-building, it seems like the Colorado crew is working on their own action-packed reality show—coming soon to a TV near you.
