A 6-foot, even 300-pound DT with a compact build and below-average arm length, Bariteau is undersized in stature but plays with great leverage. He possesses a good explosive first step. At the POA, he plays violently within the interior, often embracing the double-team at the 1-tech. His leverage allows him to hold the LOS defending against the run. He rarely resets the LOS, although shows good grip strength when engaged. Bariteau shows adequate lateral quickness in the run game. When engaged 1 on 1, he does a solid job of shedding the blocker. Colorado State uses him in 3-4 and 4-3 fronts, lining up in 1-7 techniques. Bariteau maximizes his ability in his compact frame by playing relentlessly against the run. His explosive first step initially stuns the offensive lineman, yet struggles to collapse the pocket or disrupt the quarterback on passing downs. Speed to power, the bull rush is his technique of choice. Bariteau is least effective when Offensive linemen play with leverage and strength. He often becomes a pedestrian in the passing game. He can line up at the 3-tech or 1-tech, although his body type and ability are suited for the 1-tech at the next level.
