Chiefs Super Fan sentenced to 17.5 years in Prison
Chiefs super fan Chiefsaholic has been sentenced to 17.5 years in prions after going on a bank robbery spree before the Chiefs third Super Bowl Championship.
Xaviar Babudar, a.k.a. “the bank robber with commitment issues,” has been officially sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison. He pleaded guilty to a trio of charges: money laundering, transporting stolen goods across state lines, and, of course, bank robbery. It all went down at a federal courthouse in Kansas City on Thursday. His lawyers were hoping for a 10-year sentence, while prosecutors were aiming for 20 years, but in classic compromise style, they landed right in the middle—like a kid negotiating bedtime.
Babudar first got nabbed in December 2022 after an armed robbery. But he decided that wasn’t enough of a plot twist, so after getting released on bond, he pulled a full Houdini, skipped bail, and kept robbing banks until he was caught again in July 2023. It’s like he watched too many heist movies and thought, “You know what? I can top that.”
As part of his plea deal, Babudar confessed to stealing over $800,000 from banks—because apparently, “Go big or go home” was the motto. He’s been ordered to cough up more than $530,000 in restitution to his victims, who are definitely not sending him Christmas cards this year. Oh, and let’s not forget the cherry on top: a whopping $10.8 million civil judgment after a bank teller he threatened with a gun sued him. Talk about making a withdrawal that nobody asked for!
