Player Summary:
RS SR and 1 yr full-time starter on the OL where he aligns at RG in the zone/gap blocking scheme of ARUN. He transferred from FLUN in 2023. He possesses good height with elite weight and marginal speed with a stocky, powerful build. He is an adequate athlete showing a combination of sufficient lateral quickness and agility, average explosiveness, adequate COD, acceleration, balance and ordinary play speed. He is a solid run blocker. When pulling, he exhibits sufficient lateral quickness and agility as he reaches the perimeter while taking correct angles. He exhibits good play strength as he easily overpowers EDGE with ordinary size and AA at the POA. On OZ, he fires out and latches on to IDL with adequate play speed before generating movement at the POA with solid grip strength and foot drive. He is good in pass pro. He plays with a solid base and exhibits good play strength as he anchors against bull-rushing DT with average size and get-off. If left uncovered, he does a very good job of assisting C/T with their assignment, He exhibits solid FBI as he reads the defense combined with average reactive athleticism as he picks up stunts and twists from IDL and EDGE with adequate lateral quickness and agility. He displays good mental toughness which enables him to elevate his play against elite teams. He exhibits ordinary UOH both while run blocking and in pass pro due to mediocre hand placement which prevents him from striking the breastplate of his man consistently. Lack of quality play speed limits his ability when reaching the 2nd level. Ordinary finish ability prevents him from finishing blocks to the ground against DL with solid balance. Mediocre balance prevents him from keeping his weight over his toes consistently. Adequate flexibility prevents him from bending at the knee.
Scheme Fit:
OG in gap scheme.
Power Statement:
Intelligent, powerful player who is solid as a run blocker and is good in pass pro. Efficient at pulling and does a good job of reading the difference. Compensates for lack of quality UOH and flexibility with his above-average play strength.
