Vikings WR Jordan Addison charged with misdemeanor DUI after July 12 arrest
Jordan Addison has been formally charged with a misdemeanor DUI after being arrested back in July.
Addison was charged on July 12th for two misdemeanors in Los Angeles County near Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of drunken driving.
On July 31, Addison was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and exceeding California’s legal blood-alcohol limit of 0.08 percent. The charges stem from an incident where officers discovered him asleep behind the wheel of a white Rolls-Royce, which was obstructing traffic lanes on a highway near the airport.
Addison is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles court on October 7 for his arraignment and to enter a plea. If convicted or if he pleads guilty, he could face up to six months in jail, fines up to $2,000, or a driver’s license suspension for up to six months.
According to the NFL’s policy on substances of abuse, a player will receive a three-game suspension for a first criminal offense related to alcohol use, provided there are no aggravating factors that would result in additional disciplinary action.
