Pittman’s Pocket: Top HBCU NFL Players this past preseason weekend
Several former HBCU players delivered impressive performances during Week 2 of the NFL Preseason:
- Isaiah Bolden (Jackson State): Now with the Patriots, recorded a sack and a tackle.
- Mikey Victor (Alabama State): Continued to shine with the Patriots, contributing a tackle and breaking up multiple passes.
- Chris Blair (Alcorn State): Had a standout game for the Falcons, catching 4 passes for 91 yards.
- Xavier Smith (FAMU): Playing for the Rams, caught 5 passes for 45 yards, and added 2 punt returns for 50 yards, averaging 25.0 yards per return.
- Sundiata Anderson (Grambling State): Made several impactful plays for the Seahawks, including a couple of assisted tackles.
- Isaiah Land (FAMU): Impressed once again for the Colts, with 3 solid tackles and a sack.
- Claudin Cherelus (Alcorn State): Had an outstanding game for the Panthers, recording 3 solo tackles and 2 assists.
It’s inspiring to see these undrafted HBCU players stepping up and making their mark at the NFL level. Their hard work and determination are a testament to the talent within the HBCU football community.
