2025 NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Gavin Sukup, QB, Indianapolis

Bryan Ault one of the senior scouts here at NFL Draft Diamonds recently sat down with Gavin Sukup the gunslinger and 2023 GLVC Offensive Player of the Year for Indianapolis. Check out this exclusive interview with the star quarterback.
What are your strengths as a football player? What are your weaknesses?
Strengths are my heart and mental toughness, I focus on trying to win games, improving my own game and helping my teammates do the same, I control what I can control, no point in getting caught in attempting to control uncontrollable circumstances. I have a quick release and am able to throw accurately while moving in any direction. I also have played for two different OC’s at two different schools so far in my collegiate career, forcing me to learn fast and be able to understand the goals and execute in our respected schemes. My weaknesses are situational at times, often choose to extend plays instead of taking a throw away. Putting us behind the sticks. At highest level of football playing behind the sticks isn’t gonna get the job done. Another weakness, not to me but to media, is my size. I see Bryce Young getting talking about because of his size and I’m about exactly his size.
What would it mean, to you, to be drafted into the NFL?
Being a D2 player is understand being drafted is probably out of the picture. I would be beyond blessed for an opportunity to sign as an undrafted free agent. I know I’d succeed in that environment because it’s the only choice I’d have, it’s that or go home.
What is one thing you’d like NFL scouts or general managers to know about you?
One thing I want scouts to know about me is I want to be a coach when I’m done playing.
