Nevada football player arrested on four felony drug charges | Busted with common date-rape drugs

Nevada football thought they were getting a solid addition when they added former West Virginia transfer Davis Mallinger in the winter. Mallinger is a 22-year-old defensive back who played in Nevada’s spring camp earlier this year.
Mallinger was arrested and booked into a detention center after getting busted for four felony drug charges.
Mallinger was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance of schedule I/schedule II drugs. He also was booked on two counts of “possession with intent to sell schedule I/schedule II flunitrazepam, GHB.”
Flunitrazepam is a tranquilizer used to treat severe insomnia and assist with anesthesia. Flunitrazepam and GHB are both known as common date-rape drugs, performance-enhancing drugs, and recreational drugs.
All four charges were first offenses for Mallinger with each being a felony charge.
This is a huge setback for the Melbourne, Florida native. He was suspended by the football team after his arrest.
