What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Because I felt like it would be a cool job and playing a backyard sport as a job would be interesting.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
My senior year in high school first team in school history to go 10-0 and at Albion going back to back conference champions in 2020 and 2021
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad because he has sacrificed a lot going to South America and the Middle East for 3 months at a time for his job and that just shows the type of sacrifice he had.
What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?
Just competing with my guys and the program is growing and being successful individually and as a team but most importantly win the GMAC.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Larry Fitzgerald and Sean Taylor. Fitzgerald because I grew up a Cardinals fan and he was my favorite player and Taylor because even though he had a short career I try to model my game after him.
What are your favorite things about playing football for Northwood?
Playing under our defensive coordinator Justin Sweeney. He is very smart and playing under him has increased my football IQ a ton.
What should we know about Stephen Douglas the person?
I’m a very big competitor and I try to win at everything and I will do whatever it takes to win.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
3-4 front, as a free safety I like the checks I can make to go fly around and make plays on the ball and I like the freedom it gives me.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I just confront challenges head on, think of solutions, and never back down from a challenge whether I’m on the field or in school.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A competitor, very strong work ethic and do whatever it takes to win and help the team be successful.
What stands out about your film the most?
My closing speed and I have that extra gear I can get into and I’m always around the ball all the time and led the team in tackles last year.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Ricky Pearson, he’s one of the most technical players I’ve been around and he doesn’t have a lot of stats because teams don’t throw the ball at him because he’s that good.
