Former Penn State team physician wins massive lawsuit against Nittany Lions for wrongful termination
A former Penn State doctor crushed the University this week after he was terminated wrongfully.
According to reports, Dr. Scott Lynch was awarded 5.25 million in damages, 250,000 for compensatory damages and 5 million for punitive damages.
The Orthopedic Doctor was removed from his position after complaining about head coach James Franklin interfering with his medical decisions on players for medical treatments.
Lynch won the case in Harribsurg on Wednesday after a Dauphin County jury ruled in his favor.
Lynch filed the lawsuit back in 2019, six months after he was let go by the school. The school said he was let go because they wanted a local doctor, and Dr. Lynch was driving over 100 miles to work from Hershey, PA.
It sounds like Franklin would try to release the athlete to play against the Doctors orders. Penn State is lucky no one was seriously injured.
