Pittman’s Pocket: True HBCU Freshman All-Americans List
I want to thank all the players who recently gave me time to evaluate their film during this past year. We wanted to create a First full year of True HBCU Freshman All-Americans listed by Pittman’s Pocket by NFL Draft Diamonds.
Bethune Cookman – Kenny Jackson – Athlete: A 5’11, 185-pound athlete from California – Bethune landed a 3-star recruit with a lot of upside!
Bethune Cookman – William Roberts III – OG: A 6’3, 285-pound versatile lineman from St. Thomas Aquinas, Fort Lauderdale, FL who is also rated as a 3-star recruit. He had over 9 D1 scholarships but chose the Wildcats.
Alabama State – Elijah Walker – OG: A 6’4, 305-pound mammoth from Mainland HS, in Daytona Beach, Florida with over 13 D1 offers!
North Carolina A&T – Khristian Tyson – Safety: A 6’2, 190-pound safety from Grimsley HS in Greensboro, NC with 5 D1 offers. The kid has a very good upside and is a downhill player.
Grambling State – Tony Phillips Jr – Running Back: A 5’8, 170-pound running back from Kankakee HS in Illinois. He too is a 3-star running back with with 12 D1 offers. He is an electric recruit!
Grambling State – Andre Crews – Running Back: A 5’9, 180-pound running back from Taft HS from Watertown, CT. He has had an amazing change in direction on the field.
Alabama State – James Hayes – Quarterback: A 6’4, 230-pound gunslinger from Coconut Creek HS, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Hayes is competing with Andrew Body but has a big-time arm.
Hampton – Brenton Toles III – Quarterback: A 6’0, 170-pound quarterback from Dematha HS out of Hyattsville, Maryland. Toles III is a legitimate playmaker with good ball placement.
Bethune Cookman – Matthew McKenzie – DB/WR: A 6’3, 190-pound dual-threat player from Benjamin HS, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Another 3-star recruit that was landed by Woodie and the Wildcats.
Texas Southern – Frank Moss Jr. – C: A 6’1, 330-pound center, from Heights HS in Houston, Texas. Coach Cris Dishman is ready for him, and I think he will be a beast.
Grambling State – Jordan Bride – ATH/CB: A 5’8, 160-pound speedster from Walton HS in Marietta, Georgia. Another 3-Star heading to the HBCU, and this kid is tenacious.
Grambling State – Jayden Scott – DL: A solid 6’4 pass-rusher who weighs 250 pounds and plays at Archbishop HS in Marrero, Louisiana. He is a 3-star football player.
Texas Southern – Danny Green Jr., Running Back: A 5’10 shifty running back that weighs 180 pounds from South Oak Cliff, in Dallas, Texas. A 3-star back headed to TSU.
Alabama A&M – DeQuadrion Welch – WR: A 5’10 speedster that weighs 170 pounds from Noxubee County, in Macon Mississippi. The Bulldogs landed a solid 3-star recruit.
Mississippi Valley State – Jamarious Wilson – ATH: A speedy athlete who is 5’8, and 170 pounds from Madison S. Palmer HS, in Marks Mississippi. Wilson is going to be a beat.
Prairie View A&M – Quentin Jackson – OT/OC: A versatile offensive lineman that is 6’4, and weighs 315 pounds from Cardinal Ritter HS in St Louis, Missouri.
North Carolina A&T – Chris Kinsey – DL: An aggressive force on the D-line, Kinsey is a 6’2, 280-pound rusher from Clayton HS in North Carolina, is an absolute stud.
South Carolina State – Demario Bookhart – DB: A 6’1, 173-pound from Spartanburg, South Carolina is a player to keep an eye on.

Worked as a Scout and volunteer for the East n West Shriners game in 2016-2017.
Also attended the Hula bowl and Tropical Bowl games. 2022
Also was a independent Agent and Scout at the CGS bowl game in 2021.
