What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I’ve been playing football from a young age and it has always been fun. Some people that are close to me told me I could be good at, so I took that and ran with it.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moments from my football life would be the bonds I’ve created playing the game of football. When a team is in sync, it is unstoppable. I think that comes from the bond that is created when we work together as a team and encouraging each other in a positive way.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My dad inspires me the most because he pushed me to where I am at today. He showed me what it looks like to be a respectful, humble man on and off the field. In addition, he taught me lessons that I can take wherever I go.

What are you looking forward to in your upcoming season?

I look forward to continue to build to be that high caliber player I know I can be. I look forward to play with my brothers that I may play with one last year. I look forward to playing Kansas because I know that, it will show where my weaknesses are and our weaknesses as a team are or we can surprise them. I look forward to playing my absolute best on every play.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

There’s a lot of players I wish I could hangout with but if I was to choose one, I would want to hangout with Joe Thomas. I say Joe Thomas because I think he’s one of the best offensive linemen. I am currently playing left tackle so I can learn some other techniques and tips for me to work on from him and pick some of his brain on defensive schemes and tendencies.

What are your favorite things about playing football for Lindenwood?

One of my favorite things about playing football at Lindenwood is the family culture. Back home in Hawaii, family is a huge part of what I grew up in. Lindenwood took me in and it already felt like a family. But, when it is time to get to work, we get to work. That’s one of my favorite things about playing football for Lindenwood.

What should we know about Gareth Warren the person?

I am a humble man of God. I am always looking for improvement. I am a hard worker and a team player. I am coachable. I want to win ball games.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

I played in spread offense in high school and now in college. However, as far as run and pass schemes. I like the power and counter because I like to pull. I like the screen for the pass scheme because I like to get out there and lay a hit. Someone that I think of is Trent Williams and how he gets out there with his size.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

As far as challenges in life, I have experienced a lot of loss of life in my family. People that made an impact in my life growing up. I believe I handled it pretty well and pushed through it. I pay tribute my grandma and papa when I play the game of football. As far as challenges on the field, I accept those challenges and try my best to meet those challenges. I challenge my teammates and I ask for the same because that’s how we get better as a team.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a leader by actions and not just words. A team would get a hard worker that wants everyone to improve as a whole, a team player.

What stands out about your film the most?

I believe that what stands out is some of the techniques I use (trap for pass pro, hit and lift on double teams for the run). I believe you can see the mobility. I believe you can see some aggression. However, I look to improve all of it.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Blake Rogenhofer. I played with him my freshman and sophomore year at Lindenwood. I believe that if he was given a chance that he could be a really great development player.
