Highly rated NFL Draft Prospect T’Vondre Sweat arrested and charged with DWI

T’Vondre Sweat, a highly anticipated NFL draft prospect and former Texas defensive tackle, was arrested in Austin on Sunday for driving while intoxicated (DWI), just weeks before the NFL Draft.
This event has sparked widespread discussion and speculation about the potential impact on his draft prospects, with some sources noting Sweat’s high potential as a day 2 draft pick and the uncertainty this incident brings to his draft position.
Sweat, who had a formal interview with the Cowboys at the combine, is expected to be a day 2 pick in the NFL Draft later this month.
As a senior he was named honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference after finishing the year with 30 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hurries, and four passes defended. In 2023, Sweat won the Outland Trophy and was named a unanimous All-American on a defensive line that also included Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year winner Byron Murphy II.
