Player Summary:

6th YR RS SR and 3 yr full-time starter on the DL where he aligns at 1T, 2i and 3T in the 2-4-5, 3-3-5 and 4-2-5 Nickel heavy defense of OHTO. He transferred from PAST in ’21. He possesses good height, marginal weight, adequate speed with poor length and a thick upper body with powerful legs. He is a solid athlete showing good explosiveness with solid COD, acceleration, lateral quickness and agility with average balance and sufficient play speed. He is good against the pass. He shows above-average explosiveness and exhibits good UOH as he strikes the breastplate of the OG winning battles with his hands inside while playing at a solid pad level. He executes a bullrush as he walks back OG with ordinary size and UOH. If stalemated initially at the POA, he exhibits sufficient counter ability as he counters with a rip or swat and swim before disengaging from IOL with subpar play strength and physical toughness. He shows solid lateral quickness and agility as he executes an effective inside move. He plays with a very good motor in pursuit with solid play speed before finishing up with a sack or QBH. Against the run, he shows solid burst off the ball and exhibits solid UOH in his punch, placement and timing. He plays with quality mental toughness as he elevates his play at the end of the game and played in a bowl game a few weeks after cancer surgery. Subpar size and stoutness at the point of attack prevents him from maintaining gap integrity against double-team blocks from OG/OC with good foot drive as well as base and zone blocks from OG with good grip strength. Poor length combined with ordinary play strength prevents him from quickly disengaging from OG with good size and UOH against the run.
