What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My father made me want to become a football player because he was a coach and a fan of the game. His passion for the game inspired me to become a player myself and make him proud.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moments in football both came from when I was in college. One favorite moment was when I was in junior college and won the national championship at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. It was my first championship experience and it’s a moment I will never forget. My other favorite moment was from this past year when we won our first bowl game in program history. It was a special moment to know we were the first to ever do it. It was nice to leave that legacy behind for the future players.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I am looking to play professional football at the highest level. I’m looking forward to making an impact to any team I am a part of.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

A football player I would hang out with would be Khalil Mack. He has been a player I have enjoyed watching since he first entered the league. I try to model my game after his, with the power and speed he has to intimidate opposing players.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mother and father inspire me the most because their support is unconditional. They have believed in me throughout my entire journey. Their support has been unreal and it is all I can ask for. They have worked very hard to put me in the position I am in today.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite scheme would be the 3-4 scheme where I am coming off the edge. I love the versatility of the defensive end in that scheme. The ability to defend the run, drop in coverage, and rush the passer sounds fun to do for me.

What should we know about Jamie Sheriff the person?

Jamie Sheriff is a hard working man who gives his all every day. I am a former walk on to a junior college who enjoyed every moment of the journey. Jamie Sheriff is a person who everyone loves to be around and motivated by. I take advantage of every opportunity that is presented in front of me.

What stands out about your film the most?

What stands out about my film is my ability to wreak havoc in the backfield. I am able to consistently dominate in the run and get after the quarterback. My ability to be an every down defensive end is what stands out.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle my challenges through God. I always give praise to the Lord through the good and bad. My faith in the Lord is what drives me forward each and every day.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get a leader, a player who always does things the right way. They would be getting the hardest worker on the field. They would be getting a player that gives 100% each play.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the competitiveness in the sport. I love to win and hate to lose. I love to compete against other players and just dominating. It’s great to consistently dominate the opposing team each and every play.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

An underrated player I played with would be Trey Kiser. He is an extremely hard worker and gives extra effort every play. He takes no plays off which is something I love about his game.
