What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Growing up I used to always watch football with my grandpa who is like a father figure to me and he was a big part of the reason I fell in love with it at a young age.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My two favorite moments from my football life are winning my high school’s first section championship in my senior year of high school and catching my first collegiate interception in my last college game against Memphis.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

My goals are to help a franchise win a championship any way I can in addition to being able to pave the way for other kids from Fresno, California.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Ray Lewis because he was a great linebacker, successful, and very knowledgeable. Just being able to talk about the ball and get some insight from him would be great.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mom and grandpa just because of their unwavering support of me and their hard work to get what needs to get done.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite scheme is a 4-3. As an off-ball linebacker, I’m able to play all three linebacker positions and it allows the linebackers to defend well against the run as well as cover in space against the pass.

What should we know about Jacob Hollins the person?

That I’m a hard worker, with good character, and would do anything I can for my loved ones.

What stands out about your film the most?

My tackling, coverage skills, and versatility to be able to play four positions on defense.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I stay grounded and rely on my faith in God to help me through my struggles. Also talking with my close friends and family to get their perspective helps as well.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A smart, coachable, and tough player. Great in the locker room as well as off the field and someone who takes pride in special teams and whatever is being asked of them.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love that it’s the ultimate team sport! If one guy doesn’t do their job correctly it affects everyone around him. Everyone works together to accomplish one goal.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I respect my former teammates but I think the most underrated in my opinion is Dele Harding. In his last year at Illinois he was a great tackler and was great at block destruction. He was making plays in coverage as well as forcing turnovers I definitely thought he was going to get a shot in the NFL.
