Michigan staffer and former quarterback Denard Robinson arrested for OWI after being involved in a crash

Michigan football Assistant Director of Player Personnel Denard Robinson was arrested at 3:05 am this morning after crashing his car in Ann Arbor He’s expected to be charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).
Former Michigan star quarterback Denard Robinson was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) after being involved in a single-vehicle crash in Ann Arbor.
This incident marks the second OWI arrest for a Michigan football staff member in recent weeks, following the resignation of former defensive line coach Greg Scruggs for the same reason. Charges are pending toxicology results, as confirmed by the Ann Arbor Police Department.
Robinson, a 2010 first-team All-American and the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and MVP that same season, has been on the U-M staff for the last two years.
Robinson spent the 2021 NFL season as a college scouting assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars after working with the organization as an offensive quality control coach in 2020.
He spent four NFL seasons with the team (2013-16), rushing for 1,041 yards and five touchdowns, as a 5th-round selection. He also spent time in the Alliance of American Football league with the Atlanta Legends while the league was active.
