What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
My father, Anthony Bean Sr., put a football in my hands at a young age and as I grew I became infatuated with the game, when I was younger I hated watching what I’d want to play, so when I finally got to play PeeWee you couldn’t get me off the field.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Definitely my time spent at Snow College, being a badger is an experienced I’ll never forget, I’d rank my time in Ephraim, Utah as hands down my favorite part of my college journey and experience.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
My goal is to become an All-Pro as a rookie, seeing Sauce acquire 2x All-Pro nods in 2 seasons definitely gives me the confidence i’m capable of the same thing and I’m working towards that daily.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
I’ll take that question and turn it into my own, Deion Sanders still very present in this game and on this earth, I’d go to the past and spend a day playing behind and on the other side of Deion Sanders, getting to see him in his prime before I was even born would be a learning experience for sure.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My mother, Kimberly Bean, definitely is my inspiration, she is the hardest working human being I’ve ever been around. Growing up I watched her work 2-3 jobs and raise 4 kids (me & 3 of my sisters). She is the motivation, she is my example, she is the reason I am where I am today.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
Personally with my ability to play press man at a high level and get aggressive with receivers I enjoy being in Cover 1 heavily. Although, zone wise a favorite would be Cover 2. I enjoy being the flat defender and playing low to high, being able to defend the flat and drift to the back half to make plays using my length and speed.
What should we know about Armon Bean the person?
I’m the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off my back coming from Memphis, Tennessee I know what it’s like to have nothing, and starting off my career as a walk-on I know what it’s like to start from zero. I’m never one to talk down on my teammates or others, I always look for the best in others.
What stands out about your film the most?
Aggression, speed, and hip fluidity within a 6’2-6’3 frame.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Get on my knees and talk to God a lot, every morning, every night, and will read scripture or talk to him throughout the day. God’s helped me get this far and I’ll be the first one to tell you I am nothing without him and I wouldn’t be here without him, All Glory to The Most High GOD.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A relentless motor to improve, an intelligent, physically gifted 23-year-old sponge who just wants to play hard-nosed football, have fun and help his team win however he can!
What do you love the most about the game of football?
The team aspect honestly, it’s something about playing defensive back, especially being on the outside playing corner and hearing your teammates confidence you will get the job done, knowing they are counting on you to eliminate a receiving threat, make a big play, or come down with the ball, there’s nothing like doing that for your team it’s truly something special.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
I’ll give you 2 because they’re twins, Solo & Tani Piutau. Two of my former teammates from Snow College they are elite receivers with incredible foot speed, route running, and release packages. Very physical within the route, at the catch point, and with the ball in their hands. We used to work every single day after practice in JUCO and they definitely made it hard on me every rep, and I’m happy to say they helped me get comfortable covering shifty inside receivers and helped me improve my ability in man-to-man coverage.
