Bills veteran pass rusher Von Miller bets on himself by taking contract reduction

The Buffalo Bills did not get a very pretty looking Von Miller as a pass rusher last season. It was bad, Von looked like he was missing in action more than half the season.
The Buffalo Bills went to Miller yesterday and slashed his 2024 compensation from $17.5 million to $8.855 million. The cool thing is Von Miller actually went to the Bills and made a contract where he will make less in a base salary, but he can actually make 20 million in 2024 if he hits all his incentives.
So what would he have to do to hit 20 million? Let’s review the contract.
According to Pro Football Talk, Von Miller has to return to form to get paid 20 million. He will get $1 million for two sacks. At four sacks, it increases to $2.5 million. With six sacks, it becomes $4 million. At eight sacks, $6 million.
He gets $8.645 million for 10.5 sacks. He gets $9.645 million for 15 sacks. So Von Miller can make more than what he would have under his old contract if he hits his marks. I hope Miller can get back to 10 plus sacks, but that will not be easy.
