What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Just have been doing it all my life since 3 years old and I played a lot of sports but football was what I loved the most.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Celebrations in locker rooms after wins and there have been a lot of 2 minute warnings too but what I love the most is celebrating with the guys who have worked the hardest.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
My dream is to be an NFL quarterback and get to the highest level and show that hard work pays off.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
Roger Staubach, his story is amazing being in the Navy and he had an amazing background on and off the football field. Tom Brady, because he is the purest example of being great. Brock Purdy, because he has a similar style of play and has overcome so much adversity.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad, just because of his constant belief and helping me with wanting me to be what I want to be in life.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
A combination of the spread-pro style offense, just the opportunity to throw the ball and adjust formations to attack the defense and throw the ball deep downfield.
What should we know about Layne Hatcher the person?
I’m a very family oriented, always looking to learn from anybody I can and always do the best I can do.
What stands out about your film the most?
The ability to throw accurately and avoid turnovers and throw on time.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
Put my head down and work through the challenge and find ways to solve the problem.
What would a team get in a player like you?
A relentless work ethic with great knowledge of the game who is a film junkie.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love the preparation and seeing it work in game and seeing the preparation be successful.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
Omar Bayless, a receiver my freshman year in college and he was a great wide receiver and did everything well.
