High School football player Blake Mendenhall left paralyzed after hitting a tree snowboarding
Blake Mendenhall, a 15-year-old high school football player is in rough shape after a snowboarding accident. He and his friends went to the Northstar Resort in North Lake Tahoe, California when the snowboard he was riding hit an edge, careening him into a tree.
Blake was life flighted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Nevada and it is not pretty.
Blake suffered multiple spine fractures, and required immediate surgery. There were fractures from the T4 all the way down. His spinal cord was completely separated between T7 and T8. His full spine is displaced.
Blake was left paralyzed from the waist down. Blake an avid athlete will have a long road to recovery, but it is not impossible brother to overcome! We will be praying for you and your family.
