Illinois high school football player Erik Lonvick dies from an unexpected cardiac event

Erik Lonvick was known by his teammates as “Lonnie” and was a hell of a football player for Glenbard West High School in Illinois.
It is being reported, that the high school football player died from what’s described as an “unexpected cardiac event.”
Lonvick’s death was caused by Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which is a congenital heart condition. WPW syndrome is fairly rare. Another name for it is preexcitation syndrome.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for his family. They are working to offer proactive cardiac testing for students and working to establish a scholarship in Lonnie’s memory.
Please keep the family in your prayers.
